INTRO : I am joining cry because......

  1. Hello everybody,

I am Sharmishtha Biswas. I joined CRY in March 2009 and contributed in the capacity of a photograher covering two of its "Sabko Shiksha Samaan Shiksha" campaigns in Mumbai and Thane region.

For me CRY happened because of my innate desire to challenge my usual self. I have always believed that life is not about following patterns but to variegate, and in the process to know ourselves better.

I am, and will always remain an ardent student of life. One of the most important things I have learnt in life is the power of quality education.
Hailing from the small town of Raipur I have lived very close to the tribal region of Bastar in Chattisgarh. On many occasions I have witnessed inhuman exploitation of uneducated tribal women and children.

Joining CRY is my first step towards supporting a long standing cause to build an educated democracy in India.

I am not a professional photographer but I have an infectious inclination towards photography. CRY gave me an opportunity of lifetime when they asked me to photo-document their campaign, and you shall always find me putting my best foot forward in my work.

"The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen"

With this note, I look forward to a good team work and lots of fun together!

    Cheers!
    Sharmishtha

  2. Hi everybody,

I am Jagannath Shetty. I have just joined "CRY" looking forward to contributing my bit by way of campaining & community interactions, to spread awareness amongst the Have's & Have-nots of our society against "Child Labour"

Knowing the fact that youth forms major part of the population of our country, but not many of them are qualified.
Had all of the youth been just qualified if not well qualified, India would have long established itself as a world leader & not just a present developing country.

well todays children are gonna be a part of tomorrow's youth & hence the future of our country, so I urge to all to stop child labour...and promote child education.

Just two sessions yet, but the feeling that you can make a difference to childrens lives by just volunteering is really great. It has already made me realise how much disparity still exists in the world.

We are so priviledged to have what we want and be where we want to be. I always feel like we need to give it back to complete the circle.
Hence i support cry for a better development of children. My journey with "CRY" has just begun...

    "Education is way to go...."

  5. Hi everyone,
Iam sudalaikan yadavar, joined cry a month ago, attended the orientation and excited to do my bit to the society. I have never worked with an NGO before, have only read and heard about people working with NGOs so iam completly a novice into this. I sensed a vicarious pleasure when i saw the kind of work the senior volunteers are engaged in and truly amazed with their dedication and commitment. The love for philanthropy is what urged me to join cry.
I remember teaching to destitute children in school days as part of " EACH ONE TEACH ONE" initiative but that was for very short period of time and was also unsuccessful in implementing it. I believe that it is going to be a huge challenge in not only sustaining the interest in it but also bringing about a change.I also believe that " I HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE SO WHY NOT USE IT"
Having spent my childhood in penury and difficulties in the so called journey called life, have seen all the facets of life but with gods grace and sheer determination there is a pursuit of happiness, so its time that we also give something back to the society.I also believe that youths are the pillars of the society and they should be motivated and encouraged participating in social activity rather than cribbing about something not happening. So Iam all excited to start my new journey with cry........

    cheers!!!
    suda
